Ace, everywhere you work: your book of business on the go

Quick answer

Ace follows you out of Follow Up Boss with the Companion — a standalone Ace workspace with your book of business, alerts, pipeline, and Ace chat, that runs on desktop and installs on your phone like an app, so you get a real mobile home base while Follow Up Boss stays the system of record. It's best on a Pro seat, where voice chat and the full depth of Ace's intelligence come along. (This post originally also covered the Ace Chrome Bridge, a browser extension that synced full conversation content into Ace — it was retired in August 2026 and is covered below for the record, not as a current feature.)

The problem: your CRM does not travel well, and its API keeps the good part to itself

Two things frustrate agents who live in Follow Up Boss. The first is mobility. FUB is excellent at the desk, but the moment you are in the car between showings or standing in a driveway, the native mobile experience feels thin — you want your priorities, your alerts, and someone to ask "what do I say to this seller?" in your pocket, not a stripped-down list.

The second is subtler and matters more. Follow Up Boss stores every call, text, and email you and your clients exchange — but its API does not hand the full message content to connected tools. An assistant plugged in through the API can see that a text happened, when, and to whom; it cannot read what the text actually said, beyond a single most-recent text body FUB sometimes includes. That is the difference between "you exchanged four messages with the Hendersons" and "the Hendersons asked twice about the inspection and you never answered." The second is the one that wins the deal, and it is a permanent gap in what the API exposes — not something a browser add-on can responsibly work around (see the update below). What closes most of that gap in practice is the same habit that always has: writing a two-line note after a call, since notes are read by Ace in full.

We built the Companion to close the mobility gap, without changing where your data lives. Follow Up Boss stays the house your data lives in. Ace just meets you wherever you happen to be working.

The Companion: Ace as its own workspace, on every screen

The Companion is the standalone version of Ace — the same intelligence you use inside Follow Up Boss, lifted out into its own clean workspace that lives at its own address. You sign in with a magic link (no password to forget) at followupace.com/companion/login, and you land in a focused home base built for getting things done, not admin.

Inside, you get the parts of Ace an agent actually reaches for during the day:

Because it is its own workspace, it is not trapped inside the CRM tab. And because it is a Progressive Web App, you can add it to your home screen — on iPhone, tap Share then "Add to Home Screen"; on Android, use "Install app" — and it opens full-screen like a native app. That is the mobile experience agents keep asking Follow Up Boss for: your priorities and your assistant, one tap away, in the field.

Update (July 2026): there is a real native app now, too. Follow Up Ace for iPhone is free on the App Store — iPhone and iPad, iOS 15.0 or later — and it adds the two things a web app cannot do: push notifications the moment a new lead is assigned to you, and one-tap texting that opens the iPhone's own Messages composer so the message goes out from your real number and is then logged back onto the Follow Up Boss timeline. There is no Android build; on Android and desktop the Progressive Web App above remains the way in.

The Companion is a paid perk and shines brightest on a Pro seat, where voice chat and the full depth of Ace's intelligence come along for the ride.

The Ace Chrome Bridge (retired August 2026)

Retired. The Ace Chrome Bridge described in this section no longer exists and is not available for install. We're keeping the description below for the record — anyone who used it, or found this post looking for it — rather than pretending it was never here. See what Ace can and cannot read for the current, accurate picture.

The Ace Chrome Bridge was a small Chrome extension that, as you worked normally inside Follow Up Boss, synced the calls, texts, and emails visible on your own screen to your own Ace account — an attempt to hand Ace the one thing the FUB API withholds: the actual words of a conversation, not just that it happened.

We retired it for two reasons we'd rather state plainly than dress up: Follow Up Boss's Acceptable Use Policy prohibits using an automated tool to copy content out of its interface, and a duplicate copy of clients' private conversations sitting on our servers carried retention and security obligations heavier than the feature was worth. It was never part of any paid plan, so no plan lost a capability it was sold.

Ace still reads Follow Up Boss through its official API only — notes in full, activity metadata, deals, tasks, and the single most recent text FUB includes on a contact record. It does not read call transcripts, historical email bodies, or older text threads, and no browser add-on replaces that. The habit that closes the gap in practice: write a two-line note after a call.

How it fits together: Follow Up Boss as the data house, Ace as the layer that travels

How Ace and the Companion fit together Follow Up Boss stays the system of record, Ace reads notes and activity via the FUB API, scores and drafts, and the Companion carries it to every screen. 1 2 4 Follow Up Boss your CRM stays the system of record FUB API notes in full & activity metadata, read live Ace scores, drafts & picks the next best action Companion on your desktop & phone, install like an app
One assistant, grounded in your real conversations, everywhere you work.

Put the two together and the picture is clean. Follow Up Boss keeps doing what it is great at — being the durable system of record where every contact, deal, note, and message lives. Ace reads that record through the official API — notes in full, plus activity metadata — so its scoring and drafts are grounded in what you've actually written down. And the Companion carries that intelligence out of the CRM and onto whatever screen you happen to have — desk, laptop, or the phone in your pocket at an open house.

You do not have to choose a place to work anymore. Ace comes with you, and your Follow Up Boss data stays exactly where it should. That is the whole idea: one assistant, grounded in your CRM record, everywhere you work.
