Connecting Follow Up Boss via OAuth

Updated July 3, 2026

Ace connects to your Follow Up Boss account through Follow Up Boss's official OAuth authorization — you approve it once, and Ace can securely read your contacts, activity, and deals. This guide covers connecting, reconnecting, and disconnecting, and is for the account admin.

Why the connection matters

Without the Follow Up Boss connection, Ace has no CRM context and can't answer questions about your contacts or pipeline. This is the step everything else depends on, so complete it first.

Connecting Follow Up Boss

  1. Sign in to your admin dashboard at followupace.com/admin.
  2. Open Account Setup (or Integrations) in the sidebar.
  3. Click Connect Follow Up Boss.
  4. You're redirected to Follow Up Boss's authorization page — sign in if prompted.
  5. Review the permissions and click Authorize.
  6. You're returned to the dashboard with a Connected status.
Heads up: You need admin, broker, or owner access in Follow Up Boss to authorize the connection. Standard agent accounts can't complete this step.

What happens after you connect

  • Ace builds your Knowledge Base from your CRM data, then keeps it refreshed on an ongoing basis.
  • Ace becomes available to every seat holder inside Follow Up Boss.

The initial build takes 5–30 minutes depending on your database size. Ace works during that time — answers get sharper as the Knowledge Base fills in.

Reconnecting after a disconnect

If the connection breaks — an expired token, a changed Follow Up Boss password, or revoked authorization — you'll see a warning in the dashboard. To reconnect, follow the same steps above; the flow is identical to the first connection.

Disconnecting Follow Up Boss

  1. In the dashboard, go to Integrations.
  2. Click Disconnect Follow Up Boss and confirm.

Disconnecting removes only the CRM data connection — it does not cancel your subscription. Agents still see the Ace panel, but it has no contact context until you reconnect. You can also revoke access from within Follow Up Boss under Settings → API & Integrations → Connected Apps.

If the connection fails

  • Confirm you're signed in to the correct Follow Up Boss account — the one with your full team database.
  • Confirm your Follow Up Boss role is admin, broker, or owner.
  • Try a different browser if the authorization redirect doesn't complete.

If the error persists, email [email protected] with your Follow Up Boss account email and the error message shown.
