Why Ace Is Asking You to Accept Updated Terms

If Ace greeted you with a "review and accept the updated terms" screen, nothing is broken. Here's what it is, why it appeared, and what clicking Accept does.

One-time, one click, per user. Your data, settings, and conversations are untouched.

What the prompt is

In July 2026 Follow Up Ace revised its legal terms — among other things, to cover the account-wide Ace Trove capabilities that shipped this year. Whenever the terms change, every user is asked once to review and accept the current version before continuing to use Ace. That's the screen you're seeing.

It appears on whichever Ace surface you open first:

  • the embedded assistant inside Follow Up Boss,
  • the Ace companion,
  • the embed dashboard, and
  • for admins, the admin dashboard at followupace.com (admins accept the admin version of the terms there).

Accept once and you won't be asked again on any surface — until the next time the terms materially change.

What clicking Accept does

Three things, all boring by design:

  1. You continue straight into Ace. Nothing about your account, contacts, scores, or conversation history changes.
  2. Your acceptance is recorded — which terms version you accepted and when, tied to your verified login. That record is what lets Ace not ask you again.
  3. Your account stays audit-clean. Because acceptance is per user and recorded, an account always has a clear answer to "who has accepted the current terms?"

If you decline: Ace features simply stay paused for your login until you accept — the prompt will return next time. Your Follow Up Boss data is never affected either way; Ace only reads and writes FUB through its normal integration, and that doesn't change with the terms version.

For team admins

There's nothing to roll out. Each agent accepts for themselves, in one click, the first time they open Ace after the update. You don't need to collect signatures, forward documents, or re-invite anyone. If an agent reports "Ace is asking me to agree to something," the answer is: that's the July 2026 terms update — read it, click Accept, carry on.

Admins see a separate prompt in the admin dashboard for the admin terms, since account owners agree to additional provisions (billing, seat management, account-wide features) that individual agents don't.

Frequently asked questions

  • Is this a scam or a phishing screen?

No — the prompt renders inside Ace's own surfaces (the FUB embed, the companion, the dashboards), never as an external email link asking for credentials. It never asks for a password or payment information; it only shows the terms and an Accept button.

  • Why am I being asked again when I accepted terms at signup?

You accepted the version that was current then. The terms were revised in July 2026, and a material revision requires fresh acceptance from every user — the same way app stores and banks re-prompt on updated agreements.

  • Where can I read the actual documents?

The Terms of Service and Privacy Policy are always available — the prompt links to the same documents it asks you to accept.

  • I accepted but the prompt came back — what now?

Reload the page once (a stale cached session can lag a few minutes behind your acceptance). If it persists across a reload, contact support from the Help & Support section — acceptance records are server-side, so support can see exactly what happened.

  • Does accepting change what data Ace can access?

No. Ace's access to your Follow Up Boss data is governed by the FUB integration you (or your admin) connected, not by the terms version. The update changes the legal agreement text, not any permission.
