Install the Ace DXT extension in Claude Desktop in under 5 minutes. One-click setup connects 200+ Follow Up Boss MCP tools to Claude with automatic authentication and token management.
You need three things: Claude Desktop installed on your computer (available for Mac and Windows from claude.ai/download), an active Ace Pro subscription ($55/month), and your Follow Up Boss account credentials. Claude Desktop requires a Claude Pro subscription from Anthropic, which is separate from your Ace subscription. If you do not have Claude Desktop yet, download and install it first — it takes about 2 minutes. Make sure you can log in and start a conversation before proceeding with the Ace extension.
Log in to your Ace Pro dashboard and navigate to the MCP Connection page. You will see a download button for the Ace DXT extension file. Download it to your computer. Open Claude Desktop, go to Settings (gear icon in the bottom left), then click Extensions. Click 'Install Extension' and select the DXT file you downloaded. Claude will prompt you to authorize the extension — click 'Allow' to grant Ace access to communicate with Claude. The extension handles all server configuration, authentication tokens, and API endpoints automatically. No manual config file editing required.
After installing the DXT extension, Claude Desktop will prompt you to authenticate with your Follow Up Boss account. Enter your FUB email and password. The extension creates a secure JWT token that authorizes Ace to access your CRM data on your behalf. This token is scoped to your specific FUB account — the AI can only see and modify data you have permission to access in Follow Up Boss. The token persists between sessions so you do not need to re-authenticate every time you open Claude Desktop.
Once authenticated, start a new conversation in Claude Desktop and ask: 'How many active contacts do I have in Follow Up Boss?' If the connection is working, the AI will query your CRM and return a real number. Try a few more tests: 'Show me my most recent lead' or 'What deals do I have in my pipeline?' If you get real data back, the setup is complete. If you get an error, check that your Ace Pro subscription is active, your FUB credentials are correct, and your internet connection is stable. The extension includes automatic retry logic for temporary connection issues.
With the extension installed, you have access to all 200+ MCP tools through natural language in Claude Desktop. Start with the pre-built prompt workflows: try 'Analyze my new leads from this week and prioritize them by engagement score' or 'Draft a market update email using current mortgage rate data.' Claude will automatically select the right tools from the 200+ available based on what you ask. You do not need to memorize tool names or know which specific tool does what — just describe what you want in plain English and the AI handles the rest.
No. The extension only activates when Claude needs to access your CRM data. It does not run in the background or consume resources when you are using Claude for non-CRM tasks. You can use Claude Desktop for general AI conversations and the Ace tools only engage when your request involves Follow Up Boss data.
Yes. You can install the DXT extension on multiple computers with your same Ace Pro credentials. Your authentication token is tied to your account, not a specific device. This is useful if you work from both a desktop and a laptop.
DXT extensions persist through Claude Desktop updates. You should not need to reinstall after a routine update. If a major version change requires reinstallation, the Ace dashboard will notify you and the process is the same one-click install.
